Dear Foodie Friends,

This week is all about extreme makeovers. In the recipe department, I’m sharing with you a jazzy new interpretation of egg rolls. My delicate little rolls stuffed with salmon and asparagus sure ain’t your mama’s Chinese nosh.

This newsletter itself is an extreme makeover, too. When I lost my long-time forum, Second Helpings, I turned to Mimi Vanderhaven for help in keeping the newsletter going. She agreed to distribute my newsletter, and I figured this was a good time to spruce it up. And many thanks to Akron’s West Point Market for their ongoing sponsorship.

This new, improved newsletter—which I really hope you’ll help me name—will still have an original recipe in most issues, created for the season or an occasion. It will also feature your comments, questions and recipe requests, along with cooking tips and an item or two to make you smile (there’s no reason why food can’t be funny on occasion).
